What is a wedding about and what makes for great wedding photographs? As much as we love to gush about all the lovely details and personal touches, a wedding is about people. It’s about family and friends coming together to celebrate the beginning of a new family and to share some joy. Great photographs can, bring you back to the day, run the movie in your head and hopefully bring a smile to your face. That said, the details are what make wedding planning so much fun. They make up the canvas for this story to play out on. The best images strike a balance between these two elements. The details and scenics give you a sense of style and place while the candid photos show who these people are. Add some formals, because we know how important they are, and you have a wedding story. The photos below tell you a lot about this beautiful day last May. It was elegant and lovely without being fussy. The weather was perfect, the setting sublime but most importantly you can see the love and happiness in the faces of Maddie & Hawkins and all of the their guests.
