Happy Fourth of July

I read some time ago that the purpose of holidays is to break up the monotony of the day to day. The Fourth of July certainly means celebrating our independence, but it also means my husband is home from work on a Thursday. So what do I plan for the change in our routine. I was inspired by Melissa Clarke’s picnic recipes in the New York Times and packed up a Pan Bagnat with some Bean, Corn and Carrot Salad and headed out on our bikes to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Wow it was packed, but still a pleasant afternoon outdoors. Happy Fourth of July to everyone. hope you had a nice day today.
