Marcy & Aaron had their wedding at The Bowery Hotel. It’s such a cool venue with lots of interesting areas for photos. The place itself has great style so you can keep the decor elements simple if you like. Marcy chose Petal Design Studio for the flowers. They incorporated fruits, nuts and ornamental cabbage into the centerpieces. The personal flowers were lush yet cool. Her dress was an amazing new Oscar de la Renta. I think it was pulled off the runway to be ready in time for her day. Her shoes were very subtle beige Christian Louboutin’s. I’m also happy I got to work with Ellen Kostman and Sidekick Events again. Ellen and her team kept the day running smoothly and I always appreciate their attention to the details.  The music was a mix between DJ Jay McElfresh and the Raggs & the All Stars band. It was a wonderful party with a fabulous couple. I can still feel the love.

The Spring Summer 2010 issue of the Knot will be out soon. I’m so pleased that they chose to feature one of my weddings. Zora and Pavel had an elegant ceremony and party at one of my favorite venues, The Wainwright House. It’s a beautiful location with wonderful indoor and outdoor areas, and always looks gorgeous. The Event decor and flowers were by Carolyn Dempsey Design. The catering, including the cake was by Corner Stone. This isn’t the first time that The Knot has featured my work at The Wainwright House. Dina & Peter held their wedding at the Bryant Park Grill. This venue has it all, the park, a great terrace and a lovely party space that has wonderful lighting and delicious food. I think this wedding is a perfect one to show you the elements I like to focus on when I shoot. The details and scenics give you a sense of place. The family portraits are essential but should also be fun and full of life. Most importantly of all, the candids should tell the story and show the joy. If you were there you’ll relive the day, if you weren’t, you can feel the fun and warmth  in the photos.

Kimberly & Colin held their wedding at the Hudson Hotel. It’s a beautiful example of how an intimate gathering can be luscious and special.

Elizabeth & David’s wedding happened on an unexpectedly foggy day at The Branford House in Groton, CT..  It added a beautiful & romantic quality to the outdoor images. Elizabeth’s dress was a Monique Lhuillier. The flowers were by Fleur de Lys of New Haven CT. Linda and her team at A Thyme to Cook handled the catering and decor.  The music was provided by Uptown Swing. And a fun time was had by all.

Loren and Judd’s wedding started at The Regency Hotel. Loren picked the most beautiful and flattering Amsale gown while her twin sister got to show off in Oscar de la Renta. Alesha & Dana from Once Upon Bride took care of hair and make-up.  The all important shoes were Vera Wang and the flowers by Frank Alexander. I love how the table for the escort cards came out. After the ceremony at Park Avenue Methodist Church we all proceeded to The Harold Pratt House. The weather was perfect and the light was fantastic (that always keeps the photographer happy)….It was the first time that I worked with event planner Viva Max Kaley. She was wonderful and kept it all running smoothly.
