Maria & Kirk celebrated their engagement with a fabulous party at the Mandarin Oriental, Columbus Circle. This gave us a unique opportunity to do some engagement portraits with a more formal touch before the party. The light was perfect and there were so many great spots right outside the door. The wedding is in September and I’m looking forward to sharing those shots as well.

Himani asked me to shoot her portrait this past weekend. She is a lovely woman and it was a pleasure to work with her. She’s a natural beauty and a bit of a ham. This is only a small sample of our images but I love how her personality shines through. My job is to make the subject feel comfortable enough that I can catch natural moments. I also want them to love how they look in the photos. Himani and I are both very happy with the results.

Fernanda Floret and her husband Mauro came to New York from Brazil for a new year’s vacation. They’ve been married for two years but have loved the idea of the engagement shoot. “Why can’t a married couple have shots like this?” she asked. Well the answer of course was yes.  On one of the coldest days this winter (so far!) we traveled the city and shot in Central Park, Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge. That’s a lot of ground to cover so we finished with a great Brooklyn Pizza. Fernanda has a wedding blog back home, Vestida de Noiva and has seen tons of photos. I’m very flattered she chose me for the shoot.

Lauren and Tee had a beautiful wedding last winter. The ceremony was at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We did portraits at Grand Central and Times Square and the reception was held at the Prince George Ballroom. The bride and groom are both from the south where the pre-wedding bridal portrait is a popular part of the photo coverage. We decided to do it, but after the wedding. Busy schedules on both sides had us in Central Park more than a year after the date. Lauren was thrilled to be able to wear her gorgeous Kenneth Pool dress one more time.
