A Small Tour of South Vietnam and Cambodia

This past February I met up with my bff Linda for a three week visit to Southern Vietnam and Cambodia. Both of us had never been to Asia and this was an easy choice for our first trip. Many people claim it as a favorite destination and it’s not hard to see why. The cities will keep you on your toes with sensory overload on top of whizzing motorbikes and cars. The written language uses arabic letters, so much less confusing than signage in characters. The food is delicious and crazy cheap most of the time. It’s possible to stay in the most amazing hotels and resorts without breaking the bank and there are just so many things to check out. We searched for cinnamon and kitchen tools in the food markets, shopped for the ingredients we used in our private cooking class, had some custom tailoring done in Saigon, became Vietnamese coffee fanatics, had our fortunes told by a monk at Angkor Wat, and were sad that the lanterns of Hoi An were too big and fragile to bring home safely.

We will return for sure. Next time we’ll add the Northern part of Vietnam to the itinerary. I hope you enjoy the photos. leave a comment and let me know which ones you like the best. Happy trails!

Linda impastato - Oh it’s so nice to travel and wonderful to look back at the photos, but I would have liked to be able to jump into one of the pictures for just a moment to be there again. There is a lifetime of emotions captured here in your images and I am proud to have shared the experience with you.
    P. S . Today sadly I finished the last of Mr. Son’s coffee beans from Dalat.
