Just this April I had the pleasure of shooting Isobel & Brian’s wedding in Washington DC. It was planned for the day which is usually the height of cherry blossom season, however because of this year’s cold spell it ended up being a week before peak. It didn’t really matter because the weather was beautiful, the couple had smiles all day long, the ceremony was intimate and the party was a blast. As I scroll through the photos the feelings of love, connection and joy all come back to me.
The ceremony took place at The Friends Meeting House of Washington DC. The space is the simplest of venues. Without distractions the couple and their guests became the focus. The room was enhanced by white pillows on the benches and candles lined up in front. A single guitarist provided the music. At one point of the service everyone joined hands. It created a real feeling of connection.
The reception was held at The Metropolitan Club where the style moved from simple to elegant. The floral arrangements by Petals Edge were white with soft pink accents. The centerpieces were cherry blossom branches. Sara Muchnick was the planner who with her team did a fabulous job. Miana Jun was my always wonderful second shooter.
As I look through all these photos I love how they weave together to tell the story. The energy builds and really connects you to the celebration even if you just know them from my blog. Thanks to everyone who made this a most wonderful wedding.
